Reach-in Growth Chambers

Reach-in growth chambers provide users with controlled and adjustable environmental conditions. Currently, four types offer homogenous light distribution and different possibilities for humidity adjustment and light programs (see below).

They are suitable for small-scale experiments including abiotic stress testing, comparative phenotyping, propagation, seeds, selection of transgenic lines, a large scale of plant or algae model species, and experiments with specified temperatures (suitable for temperature extremes).

Fytotrons
(for in-vitro/in-soil/hydroponics)
RI106 (Snijders MC1000E)
Usage:
  • in-soil/hydroponics

  • single shelf
  • adjustable growth space height (up to 122 cm)
Adjustable temperature range:
  • +5 to 50℃
Light:
  • cool white fluorescent tubes 15x
  • max. photon concentration 100 µmol/m2/s
  • adjustable intensity by switching off a single light tube
  • ramping possible by switching off the single light tube
Relative humidity:
  • not adjustable

RI109, RI110 (PSI FSI-RI-1600)
Usage:
  • in-vitro (RI109)/in-soil (RI110)

  • 98,5 x 67 x 128 cm
  • 4 adjustable shelves

Adjustable temperature range:
  • +10 to 40℃
Light:
  • 4 horizontal light shelves
  • 3 LED light channels: Cool White, Deep Red, Far Red
  • max. photon concentration: 1000 µmol/m2/s (upper shelf) or 500 µmol/m2/s
  • adjustable intensity 0-100 % (each light channel)
  • dawn/dusk simulation; sine or cloudy daylight modes
Relative humidity:
  • adjustable only in RI110 (50 to 80%)
History recording:
  • temperature, relative humidity, and light conditions

RI101, RI102, RI107 (Weiss-Gallenkamp SGC110)
Usage:
  • in-soil/hydroponics

  • 130 x 69 x 148 cm
  • 2 separate shelves, except for RI107 (only 1 shelf)
  • adjustable growth space height – 98 cm
Adjustable temperature range:
  • +10 to 40℃
Light:
  • cool White Fluorescent tubes, 6x on each shelf
  • max. photon concentration 100 µmol/m2/s
  • adjustable light intensity on each shelf: 1 - 10 ratio
  • light ramping is not possible
Relative humidity:
  • not adjustable

Cultivation Cabinets
